What Customers Say About Linksys WUSB600N Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter:

I rebooted, then went into the network tool. Manually entered my WPA key and bingo - connected no problem. No reboot needed on Vista. From windows, it reported that the driver was functioning properly.Using the normal windows connection technique does not work. I plugged in a wireless g based USB adapter and verified that it was able to connect ok. Automated setup did not work and manual setup could not see my router.

Worked well and was much faster than the g-based adapter.Based on this, my current thinking is that the driver is not working right for XP. I spent quite a bit of time this morning trying to get this working with my XP laptop.First, I tried the normal recommended install from the instructions that came in the box. In addition to the driver, this option installs a network monitor utility and a diagnostics tool. The driver sees the router but doesn't connect successfully.

This approach did not connect properly either. This is done by inserting the USB and inserting the install disk when windows prompts for the driver. I tweaked the advanced settings - for the most part, no impact, although when I enabled auto port, it seemed to connect for a couple of seconds.Next I took the adapter to my Vista PC. I'm not sure if everyone trying to use this adapter with XP will have the same experience, but wanted to share what I tried in case anyone else is having the same problem.

Double clicked on the connection after getting the message that windows had installed the driver successfully. It looks like the installed software disables it. I plugged it in and let windows install the driver. The install works without error on XP and requests a reboot at the end.

I messed around with the security settings on the router and the adapter to verify that the issue was not related to security settings. I deinstalled the software and reinstalled using windows directly. I brought up the diagnostics tool, and it reported my driver test had failed. You need to go into the services (my computer/manage/serives and applications/services) and restart Wireless Zero Configuration.

Anyway, it is easy to install: FIRST place CD in follow the instructions, then when prompted insert Wireless Adapter, let it install it's software, click on "your" router (Be careful because you may click on someone else's; yes with the range I was able to pick up 2 other routers in my neighborhood.hint-hint set up a password if you haven't already done so on your Belkin or whatever router you are currently using) and then you should be set, unless of course you have a password on your network. When the computer is back on, it works just as well if not better than the wireless component in my laptop.

The only thing I miss from my component working in my laptop is the fact you don't have something hooked up to your usb port. Oh, one last thing, you can either plug the adapter directly into your usb port or place it in the dock it comes with it then hook the other end of the usb cable into the usb port.

The wireless component in my laptop broke for the 2nd time, so went and got this. The only time it does stop working is when your computer is in sleep mode or when the computer is off.

Enjoy. I have Windows Vista btw.

After you put in your password you should be ready to go.

It worked effortlessly, but by loading the software before connecting the USB N module, it gave me the ability of using either the 5 or the 2.4 Radio frequencies. A great choice to attempt to raise the mps speed of all computers. I have become attached to my Portable computer, an older Toshiba Satellite and was attempting to upgrade my internet conncection from the older G version to the newer N version. This is nice when youlive in an area that has too many 2.4 products jamming the frequency. Definitely worth the low cost. As I use a Linksys N Router, I was a little hesitant to switch to a Belkin N module as I had difficulty in thepast using the Belkin with Linksys products. So I decided to go with thefaster connection capability that Linksys puts on all their products that I have used in the past.

The box is wrong. I HATE Linksys.

They will put whatever they think will sell the product, even if its not true. Don't believe their packaging.

I purchased this adapter believing that it was backwards compatible to wireless G as the box said. After several hours of messing around with that stupid thing trying to get the drivers off the website as instructed, I contact customer service who told me that the vista drivers did not exist for that product.

I wasted several weeks because of their lies. After several days of messing with the stupid thing, I contact customer service who told me that it was not backwards compatible.

I then purchased the WUSB54GSC, which said that it was VISTA compatible.

Great product. Linksys WUSB600N Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network AdapterConnected it to my Presario C700 With Ubuntu and worked wo using CD or any other driver.
